Getting brown from Henna +___?

Dear all,

This is my first post on this forum; I have been visiting the site
only a few days now and I am very excited to re-try Henna. I say re-
try because I have used a version of Henna before from Lush
Cosmetics, where the henna is set in blocks by using cocoa butter.
The particular version I used (caca brun) contains Indigo dye too.

What I was wondering was: I have light to medium brown hair. It's
blah. I have sworn off synthetic dyes for the rest of my life (PPDs)
and whilst I totally understand henna is going to redden my hair, I
was wondering if anyone here knew of a good henna recipe for a
darkish brown, like a chocolate colour. Having been through a lot of
stress this year my hair is breaking easily, making it look thin,
and since I have fine hair anyway, I really cant afford for this to
happen! I know Henna is great for strength and body, but I really
dont want to go RED.

If anyone could help me, I would be very much obliged! Thank you. xxx
