I hennaed on top of chemically dyed hair (several permanent dyes,
several semi-permanent & also bleach highlights).
Your hair should be fine, as long as you use pure henna and not the
commercially produced parp.
My hair did feel a little dry, the first time I hennaed, for a
while.. but I did use mainly lemon juice to mix the henna.
I've used mainly lemon juice since then and it's been fine.
The first time I hennaed, was almost a year ago. I hennaed once a
month, for the first few times, now I henna about once every two

I still have alot of the old chemical dye in my hair, that's now
hidden by the henna.. but my hair's in the most amazing condition..
better than it ever has been before (& it wasn't in bad condition,
even when I used chemical dyes)!
It's lovely and silky, and I get loads of comments about how shiny
it is :o)
