: I use bottled lemon juice, no water, to mix my henna and it really
: boosts the colour. I used to have psoriasis, dandruff, assorted scalp
: itchies, yet since I've been hennaing - nothing but shiny, healthy
: hair! Go for it, you'll LOVE it!

Me too, the henna took away my itching and gave me soft, smooth
hair. I still scratch my scalp, but that's just to remove dead skin cells
like the rest of my skin.

Hard water is an aqueous solution of column 2 (such as calcium) metal
salts. The result of adding hard water to soap is calcium stearate (or
whatever), which has the ion in the middle instead of at the end, and
does not work like sodium or potassium stearate. The result of adding
lemon juice to hard water is likely to be calcium citrate. If you have
hard water, use plain lemon juice, or get a water filter.
