: I get the exact opposite experience with henna powder. Only an
: acidic liquid will tint gray hair while hot water does absolutely
: nothing.
:
: I only add enough acidic liquid to henna powder to make a very thick
: paste. Then I thin out the paste with water. The acids don’t seem
: to affect anybody’s hair badly.
:
: I don’t have much experience with indigo.

I had none luck with indigo/henna WITHOUT acidic liquid, and I never
have any bad side effects due to the acidic. My hair is nicer after dye.
