I've been thinking about a henna treatment, and would love some advice
about getting just the right effect. My hair is a warm medium brown
with some gold and copper highlights. I do want to bring out the red
tones, but without making a really radical change. Very subtle red is
what I'm going for; think "office-friendly"!

Browsing through the site, I see that some people add strong coffee to
their henna to get a more "brown" result. I also see that some people
add cloves, though I'm not sure if that's supposed to add more red or
more brown. And then there's indigo, though that scares me a bit. Can
indigo be mixed with henna and applied in a single step, or is it
always necssary to apply indigo on top of henna? And, for the kind of
results I have in mind, is it better to use more henna than indigo, or
more indigo than henna?

I'm just getting started thinking about this, and I know that strand
testing is the ultimate answer, but your recommendations will
certainly help me come up with better test mixes. Thanks in advance.
