: oops, i'm a bit confused now to read that almost all of you seem to
: put COLD water into your henna and wait up to 24 hrs for dye
release.
: I always use hot liquid and wait no longer than 30 mins before
putting
: it on, but let it develop further under my plastic cap then and up
to
: 4-5 hrs. Now, i'd like to ask, if you could say it's the same if you
: do it with either
: - cold liquid and wait for 12-24 hrs, or
: - hot liquid which would result in faster dye release
: (but there's always the danger of over-cooking it)
: i've looked at the dye release tables, and it really seems to be
that
: those results would be comparable: so ...
: why use the cold liquid and wait so long at all? Is it easier to
: "catch" dye release, better, because you save time running round
with
: that stuff on your head, or to escape the danger of overcooking with
: that? I live in a rather cold climate, where i guess i'd have to
wait
: ages for dye release, so i've never used this method.. until now.
:
: thx for answering

I use warm lj, and it still takes about 12 hours to release
properly. I cooked henna once, and I'll never make that mistake
again, so hot is out.
