Walnut is a major brown dye. The dye molecule is juglone, similar to
Lawsone (which is the henna dye molecule) My prof was telling me about
the walnut husk dyebath she made up for her wool. She let walnut
husks sit in a tub of water for several days and simmered it down,
then strained it. Now I don't know if that's going to work for hair
... and if you're allergic to walnut, for heaven's sake don't do it.

Otherwise, indigo seems to cool henna's red down pretty quickly.
