The picture you referenced is Loretta's. I think her hair is dark
brown to begin with, but if you want dark brown, then henna/indigo
should do the trick. If it is not as you would like it, follow with
straight indigo and just not leave it on as long. Indigo fades a
little anyway. I can't remember who, but one of the ladies uses a
herbal indigo which is probably indigo with a little henna and
cassia obovata. She uses this after her henna. I think you are
picking up on what to do. Good Luck!
