Hi everyone, hope you're all well.

OK, I now have herbs and henna. The herbs are:

two packets of Henne Color's "Henna Quinquina" mix, which contains 17%
"natural and neutral henna" (senna?), 16% quinquina, birch, thyme and
nettle

one packet of Henne Natur's "Gold Blond" which contains chamomile,
rosemary, senna and henna.

The only pectin I could get hold of was already in liquid form, called
"Certo". I bought one 250g bottle. The ingredients are listed as:
water, apple pectin extract solids (10%), acidity regulator: potassium
citrate, preservative: sulphur dioxide. It gives instructions for
making jam, which is not particularly helpful, though it does say that
"Jams made with Certo will require less boiling, and retain the full
flavour and colour of the fruit", if that tells you anything helpful.

OK, first question. Is the gel method going to work for deep
conditioning, or does it just work for colouring (which I'm not really
doing)?

Second question: should three boxes plus pectin be enough for
thigh-length hair?

Third question: how do I use this type of pectin?

Fourth question: I want to deep condition but not change the colour (I
could live with making it very slightly warmer/brighter, but nothing
that will look noticeable when it grows out), how long would you
suggest I leave it on for?

Dying to do some more hairbrush tests!

Catherine, how's the senna research going? Did you have any luck with
vashma? My friend whose parents are from India said that "s" and "sh"
are indeed interchangeable, though Pierre seems to be our resident
linguistic expert.
