(I posted this lower down the board, but then decided you might not
spot it, so here it is again.)

I thought I'd try having a hunt through the search engines using
alternative spellings, and if you spell it "vasma" you get a lot more
coming up. It seems to be a traditional Arab fabric (or possibly
garment), but I also found the following links:

which basically says that "vasma" is Hindi for "indigogera argentea"
(spelt wrong).

Er, isn't that another of your sites? And here's another message from
there (just before I was about to look up variations starting with a
w, as well):

This one's rather mysterious, as the links with the actual word
"wasma" weren't there any more. Looks like quite a debate was going on.

"Washma" isn't bringing anything useful up. "Wasma" is coming up
everywhere as indigo. (And occasionally as "black henna", grrr.) If
you put both "indigo argentea" and "indigo tinctoria" into Google, you
notice that some hair colours list both, suggesting that they do
indeed produce different colours.

Any help?
