Kitty's Mix

| I used 200 grams of
Indian Henna from Castle Art.
My hair is a little past bra strap and it was a perfect amount for
it. I made my mixture in the early afternoon and used a whole
bottle of lemon juice (the one that looks like a lemon), a small cup of
coffee, and a little bit of water. I let it sit till about 9:00
that night. I applied it the best I could to my hair, put a
shower cap on, put some plastic wrap over that, and finally a
towel. I put another towel over my pillow and went to sleep (or
at least tried). I woke up about 4:30 in the morning with a neck
cramp so I went ahead and washed it out. I liked the color right
from the start. Hardly any orange, just a nice red that deepened
over the next few days. The last half or so of my hair has been heavily highlighted and dyed. I do notice that my natural color is a more deeper red than the dyed parts, but nothing obvious (I figure the more I henna the better it will be). My hair was VERY dry the first week. Almost to the point where I didn't think I wanted to henna ever again. I decided to clarify with water and some vinegar, which helped a little but I was still not satisfied. I finally went ahead and oiled my hair. I dampened my hair then generously applied some oil and left it in a bun till the next day. That did the trick and my hair was back to normal. I am really enjoying my color, I even had a beautician compliment it. My natural color is a light "mousy" brown.
