Bob's Mix

| Bob had naturally curly, waist length, dishwater blonde hair....until we applied the henna! Now he's got a luxurious shiny red head of hair. |

| Justine has naturally straight,
dark brown
hair. For years trying to find that 'right' color of red in a box
of hair dye and never quite succeeding until I decided to henna my
hair.
My hair at the time was about 3 inches long but after the first time I
was hooked. The elusive RED that I had always wanted. My
hair
is a beautiful dark rich auburn color and in a little over 2 years my
hair
has grown from 3" to 11"-13" at present. Myth, magic, or fact I
feel
that my healthy hair is a result of the henna treatments.
As for the mix we use...it's the same for us both. If I have to mix up a fresh batch to use then I will mix 200 g's of henna powder, with a cup of lemon juice and warm water. I just toss this all in the mixer to speed up the process. Once it is at the right consistency I transfer it to a plastic container and cover. I let it sit until the dye has released...and then apply. But most often what I do is
this...
We both clingfilm our pasty heads. I leave the paste on for minimum 4 hours and Bob sleeps with his overnight. Both of us rinse the paste to loosen it and then add a handful of conditioner and really work that in to the paste. It seems to really loosen up the paste and help it rinse out faster. |
