  Jaime's Mix

I used 100g of body art quality henna from Catherine.  I mixed that with enough lemon juice to form a paste similar in consistency to tooth paste.  I then threw in a lot of ground cloves.  I used 2 of the spice containers worth and added them mostly for the nice smell with the hope that it might make my hair more red. I let that sit on the top of the fridge for 12 hours (overnight) for dye release.

In the morning the henna was rather thick so I used a cup of plum juice to thin the paste out.  I grabbed the henna, towels, and gloves and went to the bathroom.  I applied the henna in the shower in front of the mirror.  Once I was in the shower, I noticed the henna was still too thick to work through my hair well so I add a half cup more of warm water.  I slathered my hair well making sure to squish it everywhere.  I then covered my head with a grocery sack since I was out of plastic wrap and then applied a warm towel to that.  I left the mix on for 7 1/2 hours.

To rinse, I got in the shower and added lots of warm water.  The henna was quite chunky and thick so I added lots of conditioner and combed through my hair with a wide toothed comb.  The comb did wonders to get the globs of henna out.  After that I just washed as usual!
