Henna for Hair

  Elaine's Mix
elaine

I am a big chicken when it comes to things like this.  I have developed problems with contact allergies in my "older" age and have been afraid to use hair coloring of any type.  Your informative site answered all my questions and allayed all my fears.

This is after my 3rd henna treatment.  These pics were taken the same day after I washed it all out.  I used the following recipe:

8 oz. of lemon juice
9 oz. of water
100 grams of henna powder
2 tsp. ground cloved
2 tbs. Jojoba Oil
3 pouches of Knox unflavored gelatin

I boiled the water and lemon juice.  When boiled, I added the gelatin, then added the liquid to the powder ingredients and oil.  Mixed it all up, added about 10 drops of Vetiver essential oil.  Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes and it's ready to use.

This recipe smells heavenly, by the way.  And my hair still smells of the cloves when wet.
