Namaste! I have naturally medium brown hair with reddish highlights
and a little grey coming in. I have hennaed my hair 3 times in the
last 4 months with top quality henna from Catherine. The first time I
used a mixture of lemon juice and brewed instant coffee (I now know
that's not the way to go). The 2nd and 3rd times I added more and
more black walnut hull powder as I'm trying to do for a dark brown
with *some* red highlights.. not as red as it is now, but it's still
much redder than I would like. From what I gather, adding indigo to
the mix is a good bet to darken it, but can anyone kindly inform me as
to *how much* indigo I might add? I want something like, "mahogany"..
but not black! I read alot of the posts in this forum, but could find
no "mix" that sounded like what I need. Also, are you supposed to
boil the walnut powder in water, or just add it in with the henna and
lemon juice?

Thank you so much for your time!-Nilamani Dasi
