for me, it doesn't really. indigo gives a darker shade for the first
week or so, but then it just washes out while the henna doesn't. but
maybe your hair will hold on to the indigo better than mine does.

I also tried using blue shampoo, the kind old people use for removing
a yellow cast from their grey. that does swing the henna colour to a
more brown shade. I don't like the colour that it gives me so much,
but it's maybe worth trying.
