On my naturally blonde bits, that is exactly what happens, yes. But
you will want to gradually find out how permanent indigo is on your
hair, and how well it takes. (It is permanent on some people).

I did a lot of experimenting before arriving at this method that works
for me. I started with adding small amounts of indigo to my henna, and
when I gradually upped the indigo, I found out that my 'normal' hair
holds on to indigo better than the blonde bits do - I even got a bit
of indigo build-up there. The bulk of my hair also has a bleached
streak in it, and that streak held the indigo as well as the rest of
the bulk. Eventually it did pretty much wash out, but for about two
months I had much darker bulkhair than I liked.

My naturally blonde bits are different, they don't take up henna
equally well as the rest (as in, I'm happy when I get it to orange
rather than yellow. I don't know WHAT the hell is up with those bits,
it's like they're teflon-coated). Once the henna is in there, it's
permanent though. As for indigo, they take that only reluctantly, and
they don't hold onto it for more than a week.

So apparentely it depends on the structure of the hair, and I'm lucky
enough to have two different structures on my head. It's not simply a
matter of base colour, because my bleached streaks do not behave like
my naturally blonde streaks.

If you want to dye your bleached hair to dark and you want it to wash
out eventually, it would be wisest to first determine how well that
hair holds onto indigo. Take a streak, put some indigo on until it's a
colour you can live with, and see if it goes back to the pre-indigo
colour in a couple of weeks. If so, you can try more indigo and see if
that will still wash out etcetera.

It took me about a year and a half ;-) to find out that *I* don't have
to worry about indigo not washing out. But like I said, on some people
it really is permanent. So go slow.
