G6PD deficiency-who knows about this?

ok my 'adopted' sister just got off chemo and she asked me about this
some months back. I have read the technical stuff--but does anyone
know what it is all about in layman terms? she was told to stay away
from anything that stimulates porphyrin release in the liver.
