When I was 17 I had dark brown hair on the sides and bright bleached yellow-white
on the top, sort of like a skunk. When I tired of that (years) I tried to cover it with a
temporary brown-black dye and it turned gray-green! Lovely!

Anyway, my guess is that your best bet for more-boring is to try to get your color to
a more boring cool auburn/brown ... you can't easily take henna OUT ... although
there was a woman here who did it, with successive trips to the hairdresser to use a
'citrus stripper' of some sort ... it wasn't cheap or quick, according to her.

Anyway, a mix of 50/50 henna and indigo - mixed separately but applied together -
will give you a deeper, cooler color, like a dark auburn, which will be less stand-out
shocking than henna sometimes is. I hear good news about amla turning henna
brown, but haven't used it myself.

What color were you before? I don't have anything to suggest to go back to a blonde
or light brown, unfortunately.
