Hi Lisa,

While you are sweltering in Australia at 37 degrees, I am freezing
here in Canada with the minus 20 degree weather. So cccccccold. I
could use some of that heat! Even the birds outside look cold.

Glad to hear you're happy with your first henna. I was worried
myself the first time doing it. Most of the people I know, don't
know anything at all about henna except the nightmare stories you
hear so I know how you feel. I'm so happy I found this website and
forum.

I used an indigo/henna/walnut/cloves mixture when I did my dark brown
hair. I was really happy with the results. A week later I only did
my roots with the same mixture just to get them a darker colour and I
did a vinegar rinse beforehand. The results were fantastic. The
indigo did not fade like before and it helped blend my lighter hair
at the roots ( I have lots of grey) in with the rest of my brown
hair. I can't say about indigo building up since I'm new to this
whole thing , just like you but I don't want my brown hair to get too
dark. I was thinking of two plans in order to keep my roots dark but
without getting my overall brown too dark. One is to, occassionally
do a full henna without the indigo once in awhile to keep the colour
consistent and then do lots of touch up on the roots with the
indigo/henna mixture. The other might be to only do the roots, leave
on for two hours or so and then take the shower cap off and try to
spread the henna/indigo mixture through the rest of my hair and leave
on for only 1/2 hour or so. Problem with the second one is that the
henna might dry out while I'm trying to do that.
