I know nothing about those brands but when you feel dry henna (that
is good, pure quality) it should feel smooth when you run it between
fingers. The powder grainds should be extremely fine. Sand doesn't
have a fine, smooth feel to it so I think you'll tell. If it tells
you where the henna came from, that can help too. (like India,
Morocco, Pakistan etc) If you don't feel any grit, it's most likely
pure.

: How do I tell if I have green sand in my henna? What I am buying
is
: supposed to be 100% henna. It is soft and powdery. I do not see or
: feel any sandy grit. But I know some sands are powdery so it is
: quite possible it is there without me knowing it.
:
: The brands I use are Avigail Henna and Frontier Herbs Henna. Does
: anyone else use these? Or know anything negative about them?
