Henna freshness

I have some body-art-quality henna that I purchased about 2 years ago
(a whole bunch). It is vacuum packed, unopened, and has been stored
in a cool, dry place. Would this be considered fresh enough for a
1st-time henna application on my dark blond hair, or should I just
break down and fork out the $ for some truly fresh henna? I plan on
adding cloves, coffee, and terping....
