Help lightening my red

Hello All,I've been dying my hair with henna for about a year now. It used to
be a nice light-mediem red now its a very deep red. I would like to
lighten it up some...perhaps a strawberry blond.
I use my left over body paste to dye my hair, the recipe I use is;
Yemen, sugar, Lemon and Cajeput. I have tryed to add Termeric to this
paste to lighten my hair and all it seems to do is turn my scalp
yellow. CURSES!
Any Help would be immensly appriciated!
