: : I realize there is no such thing as TRUE black henna. I am writing
: to
: : the forum to ask a question though: I was considering using as dark
: : of a henna as I can (Indigo?, tea tree oil as a darkener?) to
: possibly
: : color my goatee and maybe even eyebrows to darken them (if that is
: : safe). Is it true that I will always end up with a red tint no
: matter
: : what I do? I don't think I would want a red tint in either place.
: I
: : am new to Henna, and I have read some here already, just thought I
: : would sneak some info from you experts ;) Thanks!

: Indigo mixed with henna will work. Tea tree oil won't really make a
: difference in the stain when it comes to hair (it does on skin). You
: shouldn't henna your eyebrows--too much chance of paste getting in
: your eyes.

Thanks Alison, it sounds like I better stick to skin for the moment :)
Speaking of skin, I am trying to get the darkest stains on my hands
also. I have heard that skin preparation, frequent steaming, and tea
tree oil are excellent for darkening stains, can you (or anyone else)
suggest their favorite methods? Actually, what and where do I get the
most basic requirement for dark staining? I mean does the henna I
start with matter also? Thanks for helping a beginner.
