What kind of henna are you using? You might like to look at the Mixes
section of this site, and see what it says about 'Kristen's Mom.' She
had similar problems.
When you henna, do you shampoo and condition after rinsing out
your 'mud?' I find that to do so makes a difference. Between
shampoos, I also use just a few drops of olive oil on my hair and
scalp; jojoba works very well also, and a treatment with coconut oil
may help as well.
Body art henna really does make a difference to the cumulative
condition of the hair. When I resumed hennaing in August, after using
chemical dyes, I first experienced what you describe. Recently,
however, I find that I can actually dispense with the use of
conditioner after routine shampooings, and that is a 'first' for my
thick, bushy hair. I would never have believed it possible, but it is
indeed a result of the use of henna.
