: Thanks for this forum and site.
:
: I'd been using henna powder for almost 10 years to dye the grey
hair
: of my originally dark brown hair.
:
: However, with 50 per cent of my hair grey, I don't find the
reddish,
: yellowish and orangy hair color good on me.
:
: Can you suggest any henna brand, henna color or henna mixture that
: will make my grey hair brown or dark brown? I want to try Lush
henna
: products too.

Hi Lu- Please read my post below about using really good henna that
is fresh and pure as opposed to stale henna that has been adulterated
with other things. Maybe you have been using good henna all along, I
do not know, but when I ordered my henna from Catherine this time, it
made all the difference in the world. I agree with Pierre; good
henna does not give yellowey, brassy highlights, just a lovely red.

I now have no brassiness in the gray, just a shiny, pretty deep red.
And it is not even as deep and lovely as it will be after a few more
applications. My hair is very dark brown with a fair amount of
silver (now red) at the hairline and sides. I mix my henna with
lemon juice only and leave it on for at least 3 hours. I squoosh it
way into the scalp, too. Today when I woke up, I smiled when I
looked at my hair again. Using body art quality henna does make a
lot of sense. Believe me, I am not trying to embarrass Catherine or
anyone out here by gushing about her great henna. It just that they
were SO right and I was not! I am glad I learned about the good
henna. Maybe you will give it a try.
