I had foiled highlights and plain henna was too orange red at first on
the highlights, okay on my brown. I got some indigo and did a
henna/indigo mix. Check out the Kim A mix and see what she did. In the
sun it's not really brown, but more of dark burgandy tint. The 50/50
mix really tone downed my highlights, now I just use henna with 10-20%
indigo to maintain. Catherine ships within a day so the indigo comes
pretty fast.

Your hair may darken a bit with the oxidation. Run a few strand tests
because if you go too dark you can't come back to lighter.

Some people use walnut powder for brown. I have not tried that yet,
but will someday. People on this board have reported mixed results
with it. Do a google search on

walnut powder hennaforhair

and you should find dozens of post on it.
