: Please answer some more questions for me. How long ago did you
: notice your hair start thinning? Has it gotten any better. I have
: a feeling that you are going through a telogen effluvium (shedding)
: and not hairloss. This can be due to many different things and is
: not a permanent condition, though it can take a long time for the
: hair to grow back, anywhere from six months to one year. Please be
: more specific about your hairloss, is it generalized thinning,
: patchy etc.
I used to dye my hair almost every month or so from 1994 to 1999 or
2000. I used to have very thick hair and then I noticed it was
starting to get thinner and thinner so I stopped dying it. Then I
discovered henna. I have been using henna since then. I think some
hair did grow back at first but its never really been thick since all
the chemicals. Lately I noticed its getting thinner than ever. My
mom has thinning hair and she has never dyed it so I assume some of
this is heredity. Its at the point where if I don't wash it for 2 or
3 days and it gets oily or weighed down, it looks reaaaallly bad and
thin, especially up top above my forehead. Right after I wash my
hair it is not too bad but I worry about it getting worse. I dont
want to stop using henna because it is not supposed to be bad for
hair anyway and I really hate my plain brown hair. Maybe I should
see a dermatologist... Thanks for your replies.
