deepening color?

I tested indigo on a harvested sample of my hennaed hair, which I
last hennaed about 3 weeks or so ago. The color darkened, but
stopped at a color that I'm not too in love with. Will repeated
treatments of henna and indigo give deeper and darker color? or will
the results that I got this time be all? I don't want to start using
indigo expecting to reach an almost shade of black but only wind up
with the shade of dark brown that I don't prefer for myself.
I want to go to a deeper shade than my current deep Auburn that
looks much lighter in the sun, (I think) and am contemplating using
a mix of henna/indigo which is lighter on the indigo at first and
working to a 50/50 mix, but eventually wind up with black.
