As Pam said, look at my table on the Mixes page. The important thing
is to get henna which is preferably pure henna, or at the least pure
vegetable dyes. The problems people get are when they use hennas
which have been adulterated with metallic salts. The other thing is
to test, test, test!

I used to henna until four years ago, and I used Logona. I didn't
know a thing about henna at the time so I didn't do any of the proper
stuff like wait for dye release or add acid. I used to leave it on my
hair for 6 hours, but I have good quality hair and if your hair's in
good condition, it absorbs dye more slowly. (So be warned: if it's
been tortured with chemicals and is in a right state, it might absorb
the henna more quickly. Another reason to test.) I got a nice rich
auburn.

Henna is marvellous stuff for your hair, my hair's never been in such
good condition as it was when I hennaed it. What colour is your hair
naturally, what colour is it at the moment, and what colour are you
aiming for? You really are best off with plain henna of the best
quality you can find and afford, which means body art quality.

By the way, I think Logona do indeed have all natural ingredients, but
there are a lot of allegedly "natural" dyes out there with some pretty
unpleasant stuff in them. Do your research carefully. This site is a
great resource.
