Yes! I loved my pink bits! The bleach/peroxide thing really dried
out those chunks of hair, which felt yuckky next to all my sleek
henna goodness, so I went on a weekly henna binge for a month to get
them healthy again. You can still see they are lighter than the rest
of my hair, but dark enough that Manic Panic won't show, too dark.
I plan on doing the bleach highlights again, this time only small
strands throughout, maybe with a highlighting cap this time, so I
won't have big chunks of hay-like hair, just little strands of it.

: The blue hair experiment is complete and I'm totally pleased with
the
: results. Tracey, were you this excited about having both henna
and
: OTHER colour in your hair?
:
: I did do the blue on Sunday as planned, but I'd never used Manic
: Panic before, and thought I should shampoo like you do with henna
or
: even some commerical dyes (and it didn't say in the directions).
: Wrong idea, as most of the blue left immediately. I had the day
off
: from school today, though, so I sectioned out more hair (I decided
: after the fact on Sunday I didn't have enough hair in the blue
: anyway), and went through the bleaching/dying again. The results
are
: a lovely shade of light blue against my henna copper.
:
: If you're thinking of adding another colour, Manic Panic is
totally
: the way to go--the closest thing to natural in a jar, and as safe
as
: you can get from commercial dye.
:
: The ingedients list for the colour I used (Bad Boy Blue) are:
: Water, Beeswax, Cetaryl alcohol, Cetareath 20, Mistletoe extract,
: Hops extract, Achillea Millefolium extract, Anthemis Nobilis
extract,
: Acetic Acid, Methylparaben. The Ceta-stuffs are coconut
derivatives
: (from what I can find on them) used to help open the hair shaft
for
: the colour to go in. Achillea Millefolium is yarrow. Anthemis
: Nobilis is a variety of chamomile. Methylparaben is a
preservative
: so the mix doesn't die on the shelf.
