The answers really helped. I think I am going to wait for a month
and in the mean time order powder henna and use that next time.
Hopefully I will get some color change then, and also I will be more
experienced in the application process.. :)

I looked around and found a few sites that seem to have genuine
powder henna from Pakistan and India... Unfortunately, it looks like
the purchasing and ordering seems complicated... I don't want to
have to make a call to Pakistan to get henna...

But I found this web site "castle art hennas" I am going to order
and give it another try!
