is the end of next week, My fathers wife is Morrocan, so of course
is my sister, her daughter. They will be having the celebration of
the Night of Henna, and I will not be there for that. My sister is
really upset I will be missing this, and so am I.

Because of this she sent me 2 items for me to use, to decorate
myself any design I can. So that I may partake in blessing her
(although long distance)

I thought I'd paint on my palm a sun or an OM. Here is where I
need help. I need to verify their safety (NO PPD!) as I will be
painting this on my skin.

The 2 items are:

1) is a mostly used bag of henna that my sisters mother bought
in an Arabic Shop called SADAF Henna Red

2) Is a premixed cone of Henna called Jani

I do not know anything about these brands and my sister and her
mother did not know anything about PPD.

Catherine has posted a test to do on your hennaed hair to see if
there were toxic ingredients in your henna, but I cannot find a test
to do (in a hurry) on the henna that is in the bag. Besides that is
kind of scarey that you have to put the Henna in your hair first
before you can test the toxicity of it. I do not plan to put henna on
my hair until I use Cassia Obovata anyway. But I need to know if
this has impurities in it, and if it is safe for my skin.

The premixed cone was very dark looking in the tube and had a
very Pine tar (pine sol kind of smell) I thought of coal tar in PPD
and got frightened. It may be just terps but I need to know for
sure!

Catherine if you read this...can you verify the safety of these 2
brands as PPD free??? Or if Catherine does not find this post,
anyone else know??? I would hate to not be able to partake in
this ritual, even if from far away. Thankx-ahead-of-time.

Love & Light, Tee
