My hair is naturally medium brown and I have been using a henna/indigo
mix 3 times now.

My hair looks almost black under flourescent light (green light
overpowers the henna red), brown/auburn under incandecent light
depending on the angle, brown in the shade and a brillant burgandy red
in the sunshine.

Part of the wonders of henna color, depends on the light and the angle
it bounces off the hair shaft.

I would give it at least a week to settle down, it may appear lighter.
Also when your roots grow out they will match your hennaed hair, a
blessing really.

: I used body art henna, following a hairball test, over hair that had
: been chemically dyed a light-to-medium copper auburn. To my surprise,
: after the finished result had oxidised for a day or two, it turned
: out darker than anticipated. In flourescent light, it looks almost
: dark brown; in natural light, quite red. Does this often happen?and
: if so, why? My hair is naturally a shade or two darker than I had
: been dyeing it, and it is almost as if the henna 'knew' that, and
: restored it to its natural level. Thanks!
