There is no such thing as “Black Henna” yet Rainbow Company sells it
as “Persian Black”. Henna can only be copper red when mixed with
lemon juice and light Brown when you add dark roasted hot black
coffee. Longer you keep it deeper the color. A good heat head rap
will also produces darker color.

However, you can add Indigo and Henna (50/50) will get close to
Black color. You can get best results by applying Henna first,
rinse, and then applying Indigo. It is a mess. If you are trying to
color the gray, results can vary. So, be sure to do the strand test.

If you are allergic to chemicals especially PPD watch out for the
products, which sells as “Black Henna”. It usually contains some
amount of PPD. I have done lots of research on these products after
I ended up in the hospital emergency room with breathing
difficulties a swollen face.
