: Hello to all,
: I am confused about something...
: First of all, my main reason for wanting to use henna is to help
make
: my thin, fine hair--thicker and fuller. I know that henna coats
the
: hair shaft, and that each time it is used, the hair will become a
: little thicker or fuller looking. My hair is naturally a medium to
: dark brown, with some reddish highlights, straight, and very shiny
: (when it is healthy!) I want to keep my hair a medium to dark
brown,
: shiny, and healthy... but I want to do it with henna, as opposed to
: chemical dyes and glossing treatments...
: MY QUESTION: I have dyed, permed, highlighted, and glossed my hair
: over the years, and I am confused as to whether or not I can wait a
: certain time period after any of these processes (perhaps 4-6
: months?) before I can use henna.. I know that once I use the
henna,
: I can never go back to chemicals-- BUT , can henna ONLY be used on
: VIRGIN hair (hair that has NEVER, EVER been chemically dyed or
: permed?)
:
: Thank you very much for your help!

Just a small correction. Henna doesn't coat the hair, it gets into
the hair itself and binds with the keratin. Chemically and
physically, coating it and penetrating it are two TOTALLY different
thing.
