: NO!! Don't add lemon juice to indigo. Just water. It's not at all
: like henna, it needs the water to disolve and oxidize. Henna
releases
: dye and needs something to help it, and indigo needs to oxidize to
: dye.
: It's crazy stuff. Not at all like henna.

: : I was wondering when you mix the indigo, do you also use lemon
: juice
: : for dye release? And can you use apple cider vinegar in henna and
: or
: : indigo instead of the lemon juice? Thank you.

Oh thank you annika, see I used some of that mountain light
henna/indigo mix in a dark brown trying to darken my bleached areas
and used lemon juice to dye release. I didnt get anything out of it
really just very conditioned hair lol. So I wondered if it had been
the lemon juice? How would you go about releasing the dye yet not
messing up the indigo in this situation? Im just using up our boxes
of henna we have laying around the house that we bought a few months
ago, its either mountain light or henna in bulk around this area.
Thank you, Valerie
