: I heard many years ago that you could not put henna on hair that
is
: : already chemically dyed. Is this true?

Yes, this is true.

It seems if it is totally
: : safe and natural there should be no problem.

Henna IS totally safe and natural. However, chemical dyes AREN'T.
Put simply, henna is acidic (as is your body), chemical dyes are
basic. If you've ever had a chemistry class, you'll know that
acid+base=not fun. Some of the horror-story reactions I've heard of
are frog-butt green or swamp-monster black hair, or chunks of hair
falling out of the scalp.

How long do i need to
: wait. Any sugegstions would
: : be greatly appreiciated!!!

You'll need to wait atleast three months or so, from what I've heard
anecdotally. Three months after you dyed your hair last, you can
start to test henna on it on hair collected from your hair brush.

In the future, please read the FAQ before you ask questions that are
already answered there. That's what it's for.
