: Glad to be of some help, Valerie :o)
:
: If I were you though, I'd go with the body art quality henna,
rather
: than hair quality henna, from a health food store.. Many ready
: made 'hair hennas' have other things mixed in with the henna
powder,
: or are old & poor quality, at best.. or have less than desirable &
: even damaging ingredients in them, at worst.
: I use the henna from Catherines store (on the 'Suppliers' page of
: this site) & have had excellent results.
:
: I haven't actually been to the hairdressers since I hennaed for the
: first time (about 4 months ago now), so they haven't had chance to
: give me a telling off about using henna!.. not that I'd pay any
: attention to them anyway! :op I used to have my hair trimmed at
: least every 8 weeks, but I've had no split ends since I hennaed!
: My mother's actually a retired hair stylist.. she thinks the whole
: henna thing's great!
:

: : Hi Dionne,
: : Thank you so much for going to the trouble of posting your pics.
I
: : must say I am very impressed! Your hair is so gorgeous it was
nice
: : before but after the henna it looks bewitching, and so thick! I
: wish
: : to God the health food store was open I can hardly wait :) I am
: happy
: : to know about your hair being in such good condition after all
: that
: : too lol. I am the same my hair has been through it all, and if it
: : wasnt for a good diet and vitamins, it would have been toast. But
: now
: : I want to take better care of it and henna sounds like just the
: : thing. Well you and the others who have replied have definitely
: put
: : my fears to rest concerning henna. And do you notice its always
: the
: : people from the salon industry that has negative things to say
: about
: : it? Its like the medical profession versus natural healing! Oh
: dear
: : I'm rambling, I didnt get enough sleep last night :) Anyway thank
: you
: : so much Dionne I LOVE your hair!!!!!! Its Gorgeoussssssss :))
: : Valerie
Thanks for the tip on the henna Dionne. As it turns out, the store
here sells very pure henna. Two of my friends use and swear by it.
Their hair looks great, like yours. Not only that they are both grey,
one nearly completely and the other at least 50 percent. Those grey
hairs give the best highlights :) I almost wish I were grey lol.
Anyway I am glad your mom who was a beautician approves of the henna
that validates it even more. I didnt mean to imply all beauticians
were anti-henna, just that any time somthing negative was said about
henna, it was usually someone in the hair industry. In any case
Dionne, I am sat here as I type with the henna already in and a
shower cap on :)) So heres hopin! I intend to leave it on for two
hours. How long do you usually go for?
Thanx again. Valerie
