Hi Alicia!
Are you in the UK or Ireland? I only ask as the term "ginger" used to
describe hair colour I have only heard used in this part of the world!

There is never any information about colouring red hair period. Its
as if no one believes that natural red (or ginger, or strawberry
blonde or whatever shade) exists at all.

I'm also a natural redhead, although my colour leaned more towards
golden/copper with some auburn. I can state point blank that henna
will only intensify the red shades and not really "darken" what
you've got.
Now you could say it will darken in the sense that the "redness" will
be more intense, but definitely not leaning towards brown, unless you
explore the possibility of including some indigo or possibly black
walnut powder in your mix; however its still going to be some shade
of red.

You might find that you really love being a deeper more intense red
shade! Redheads have more fun, anyway, what a pity to sacrifice your
natural colour to be just one more brunette in the crowd! (IMHO
only...)I do know women with what I would describe as "ginger"
colouring and it can tend to look a bit washed out or faded, so maybe
you just need a colour boost.

You should definitely try some harvested hair tests, you could
achieve a really gorgeous, deep, intense, radiant, chestnut like I
did. I never thought I could be "more red" than I already was, but I
LOVE it!
