Peroxide is a bleaching agent. It strips color from your hair but
the results aren't always uniform and even. If you have natural red
highlights, like me, peroxide will cause you to have an orange-y
brassy hair color. It's used in products like Sun-In.

Perioxide is used in commercial hair dyes and it is a good
antiseptic too.

Honestly, I wouldn't use it on your hair becuase it will damage your
hair and will make the ends very dry. As for your scalp, you could
cause some dryness and flaking although when I used Sun-In 15 years
ago I had no flaking - just ugly brassy orange hair.
