Henna build up

Hi all,

I have been using various shades of henna for the last year or so,
and my hair consequently contains different colours. The roots are a
reddish/orange colour (I have some grey), the sides are very dark
brown and the back is a lighter brown. Is there anything I can add
to my hair to strip the various henna shades? I would like a mid-
brown colour throughout. I am considering adding a semi-permanent
colour on a once off to even out the shades. Is this a good idea.
