thx a lot, Debra, for bringing up these questions. They're puzzling me
aswell, but now that i decided the 2-step-process gives me the colour
i want, i'm just happy with the result - and eager for someone to
prove me wrong and find out that gelling indigo is possible, after all..

Never thought i could dye my hair so dark (even my greys!) just with
henna and indigo! I prefer using health store herbals w/low quality
indigo, though, because i'm a bit afraid really good indigo might turn
me completely blue-black, which would perhaps be nice but too much
commitment for me. It was already quite exciting to put on that low-q
indigo stuff on my whole head - and worth it ;)

I once tested Catherine's indigo on a hairball, first henna, then
indigo, and it went completey black with a lovely purple hue. Very
nice if you want to go real dark and black, but that would be too much
of a hassle for me to keep up with, to get it all even and that, every
4 months. I'm happy starting now at the top, with covering my greys
brown-black, and curious already to see them grow and what repeated
applications over the years will make me look like ;)

hooray for henna and indigo!
