Hm............... variations in gray hair ........... another puzzle.
I see a long stretch in the academic journals again.

My gray does just fine with henna. I have noticed that my husband's
gray beard hairs are straighter than the rest of his beard hairs
(black person, kinky hair). I wonder if I can get him to spare a few
of each for comparison. I wonder if I can get a better microscope for
Christmas.
