henna, it doesn't matter when. from what I understand the purpose of
hennaeing first and then applying indigo is due to the inherent
colors of the two plants (i.e. henna=red + indigo=blue = black). it
is my assumption given the comments that if you indigo on un-hennaed
hair then it will turn out an ashy-bluish-blackish color???? I
haven't used indigo before, but I don't believe it matters how much
henna is on your hair (i.e. how much henna build-up you have) but it
does matter how long you leave the indigo in your hair - longer the
darker.
