Indigo - please answer this

I wrote before.

What will happen if I indigo without hennaeing first? My hair is
medium brown. I would prefer a charcoal color to any red and I'm
afraid that if I henna first that the final color will have a red or
violet cast. I would actually prefer a charcoal or bluish/green
cast. Has anyone tried this?
