: While I appreciate everybody else's comments, and agree that body
art
: quality will no doubt produce better results all around, I'm here
to
: tell you that different parts of the hair definitely take up the
dye
: more readily or less readily depending on how you look at it. I
can't
: get an even result even though I have tried giving the roots a head
: start for 15 min or so before doing the rest of my head. The ends
and
: length always produce a different (brighter) colour result.
:
: I have very porous hair, and I imagine that the older the hair, the
: more "worn" and weathered it is with probably more open cuticle to
: let the dye penetrate.
:
: At any rate, it doesn't bother me too much, because I know I had a
: lot of colour variation throughout the length of my hair even with
: the natural colour. Everyone does. I think we're just so used to
: seeing unnatural chemical dye results on everybody nowadays that we
: forget our hair is made up of a lot of different shades to produce
: our own individual colour. Thats what I like about henna, and why I
: think the end result with henna is much more natural than with a
: chemical dye job.

I was going to add something along those lines, but couldn't get it
to come out in any logical way. Thank you, you're totally right.
