: Hi, my hair is naturally light brown and about as long as the bottom
: of my ears. About a week ago I hennaed my hair with Light Mountain
: Natural medium brown, but it definitely did not come out as dark as
: I wished.. a little on the reddish side instead. So I did it again
: yesterday, and although I like the texture, it's still not as dark
: as I want it. My question is, how long must I wait before I can put
: a chemical dye in it, or at least put a few highlights in? If that's
: out of the question, what would be a good way to get my hair a
: darker brown without having a bad reaction? I want a pretty dark
: brown. Thanks anyone for advice.

I suggest you get some fresh henna from one of the suppliers listed on the site.
Light Mountain isn't nearly as dark as Catherine's. LM's probably been sitting on the
shelf for a couple of months - henna should be kept in the freezer, else it goes
stale. Once you know what color you get with pure henna, then you can guess
whether to add indigo, walnut, coffee, cloves, or something else.
