Cassia obovata is often called senna which is often called neutral
henna. In my experience pure cassia obovata doesn't have enough
chyrsophanic acid to stain hair, but rhubarb root does. The "blonde
henna" mixes have turmeric and rhubarb root in with cassia obovata.
