I did a strand test on my girlfriend (dark brown hair; henna and clove
with lemon juice, water and a bit of olive oil; 3 hours) which made no
discernable difference, and Catherine reckons it may have been the
olive oil. (Though someone else reckons my henna is dead, which I
doubt since it seems to be working the rest of the time, just did a
sample for a blonde friend which came out copper. Personally, I think
it was the lack of oxygen, it was in a small, sealed container.) What
difference did the olive oil make? Do you think it inhibited the dye
release?

Your concoction sounds practically edible - leave out the henna and
you'd have a dessert!
